I actually don’t, as, in my rescue work and my involvement with the Island Parrot Sanctuary, I came to see that these wonderful creatures aren’t intended as pets – and in my heart, I can’t bring myself to put more birds on this earth when there are so many already in need. There are many wonderful breeders out there, but I dunno… Almost 75% of parrots live in sub-par conditions. Can I live with myself knowing I might add to that?
Knowing that these captive parrots exist and need us, though, I do promote adoption and education. That’s just me, though. I’m a bit unconventional, I think!
So sweet!
I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Award. Please visit my “A Bit of Sunshine” to pick it up if you want to ! 🙂
